CAIS Gallery delightfully announces the solo exhibition by Bo Min Kim, who shows a new dimension of oriental painting as mixing traditional landscape painting with a line tape on ramie fabric canvas. After her solo exhibition 'the adventure' in 2010, her first solo exhibition in Korea 'Corner House' series will show 40 works, including indoor landscapes, drawings and 'studio' series. 'Studio' series is about records of her atelier and herself. Since she has moved her atelier 5 times during 7 years, she painted a flow of time and space on a canvas. As she introduces her private space, exploring herself in depth can be seen in her works.
'Bring my space where I know very well to a stage, a story has begun as unseen people move. I contemplate how daily life has dramatic connectivity, and paint my daily scenes as ruminating on canvas.' by Bo Min Kim
Also, in 'THE MONUMENT' and 'New light' series, she expressed lights more resolutely. It is a direct expression for light that covers the past and future, and shows her changes and challenge in her skills of figurative arts. Through her works, she suggests limited representation which traditional painting has, and keeps exploring a possibility of using traditional medium.
