One of the biggest shopping malls in Hong Kong, Times Square opens the fourth Korean Art Project "Times Square’s Korean Art Exhibition : Reconstruction and Recollection by Seon-Ghi Bahk & Eddie Kang".
Gana Art has collaborated with Times Square annually since 2010. In this time, large-scale horse sculpture 'Point of View - Horse' by Seon-Ghi Bahk at Open Piazza and another sculpture 'Cast a Spell:Yeti' and video installation by Eddie Kang will be displayed.
Seon-Ghi Bahk has worked a sculpture itself with various mediums and techniques. His representative work, polygon 'point of view' series, looks two-dimension or multi-dimensional depending on a view, which disturb our viewpoints, as creating an object in multi-dimensional polygon after drawing. The audience can experience visual illusion and think about recreation, existence and recognition. The new work 'Point of view - Horse' consists of 4 meters tall sculptures, three mother horses and two yearlings. Also, space drawing series 'An Aggregate 130303' transforms the shopping mall into a pictorial space with glint and mysterious colors.
Eddie Kang uses a worn doll in childhood as a motif to heal himself, as well as to make various stories. For this exhibition, the artist created a virtual animal 'Yeti', which collects old stories in a forest of memory. He wants the audience look back good memories in childhood through his work 'Cast a Spell:Yeti' made of white F.R.P. Also, the photo wall to show a process of making Yeti and video work 'Blossoming Happysells' will be showed.
