by Gana Art Center
Location: Gana Art Center (SPACE I / II)
Artist(s): Hye Soon LEE
Date: 30 Nov - 9 Dec 2012

Gana Art sheds light on the relationship between one's life and art from a new perspective through Hanbok - Korean traditional clothes - exhibition by Hye Soon Lee. She has made Hanbok for many years with consistent historical research, and held the fashion show many times. Her showy bur restrained Hanbok has been recognized as artwork, rather than clothes. She is going to open her fashion show at Art Miami in December curated by Bernice Steinbaum.

From being born to departing this life, clothes and one's life are truly inseparable. In this exhibition, Clothes used for special time, such as Hanbok for a baby and a child recreating tradition, class Hanbok for wedding, and a shroud will be exhibited. Most of people in the world wear traditional clothes when a social day only. Gana Art designed this exhibition to appreciate Hanbok as one of art genres and succeed to traditional culture.
