Art Seasons Gallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibition “Sell Out” by Malaysian artist Chan Kok Hooi. As Chan’s first solo exhibition in Singapore, it features his most recent artworks and some of his best known pieces. In addition to his regular paintings, Chan will also create his art on Art Seasons Gallery’s floor.

Consistent in his rigorous style, Chan challenges himself on the art content of “No Beauty“; thus to ridicule the relationship between art and money. Chan’s painting reflects a composition of reuniting conscious and unconscious realms of experience, that the world of dream and fantasy would be joined to the everyday rational world.

About the Artist

Chan Kok Hooi (B. 1974) was born in Penang, Malaysia. He received his Bachelor in Fine Art (Painting) from Malaysian Institute of Art in 1996. His artworks have been exhibited in USA, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Hongkong, Austria, Malaysia, Indonesia and UK.  In the most recent years, Chan has been awarded as Top 30 Finalist - Sovereign Asian Art Prize Hong Kong (2008 and 2009), Winner - Royal Over - Seas League Visual Arts Travel Scholarships in United Kingdom (2009), and Sole Recipient- Galeri Petronas International Visual Arts Residency Award (2008).
