'Round Project' is the public art focusing on the viewers' movements and experience with invisible music, video, and installation, as intimately connecting the forest in Hamyang with the park and the square nearby.
The project started from the consideration that how to look at this unique park in terms of physical and cultural characteristics of Hamyang.
In the middle of park, there is the forest where cannot be substituted by any artistic plans or facilities. Thus, 'Spheres Hamyang- Sound Walk' by Minseung Jang and Jaeil Jung has been created with extreme citizen involvement. They made four seasons of the forest themed music and the orchestra formed by local youngsters played it in the forest. Recorded video and music will be shared on the Web. Also, music on the application with GPS will be playing automatically while walking along the forest and it will provide a synaesthetic experience beyond a visual image of here.
The cultural center and the park opposite the forest are recently completed. For their directly-opposed images, Soyoung Chung creates an installation 'lighting garden' at the square. Unlike the forest consists of the natural materials, the square is formed by the artificial artworks. These become another kind of conceptual 'forest' bringing the nature into it.
Another artwork 'Towerman' by Randi & Katrine will be placed at the entrance of forest after the exhibition in Seoul. It will act as a medium between a floating music inside and the artwork at the square.
The upcoming exhibition at Gallery Factory is a sort of preview to explain these approaches and process. In the exhibition, the website for the project, main contents and works will be introduced. Also, it will be utilized as an archive with providing cultural, visual and auditory experiences.
