Joon Sung Bae, who is well-known with lenticular technique, will show 10 art works at Keumsan Gallery. Under the theme 'Moving Still-Life', he has shown various series, which have received a great attention at Art Basel Hong Kong and other international art fairs. His world of art requires to understand human nature, which started from Latin, 'endeavour'. In Latin, 'endeavour' means 'aim' or 'conatus', while it means 'try' or 'make an effort in English. For example, when someone sees something is falling, then tries to hold it instinctively. Or, people guess what the opponent want to say on the phone. Like this, interlocked act or think is connected to human nature. Based on it, his work can be said that it moves as well as does not move.

The reason why we feel liveliness from a flat work is that we imagines the essence, not appearance of an object. Thus, inside of the work, we can see and interact with a subject on canvas. It is reminiscent of the subject and landscape behind in still-life, and outside, it starts communicating with the audience's memory itself. However, such communion gives deeper desire to both the audience and the artist so that his lenticular work starts from it.

'From old times, I have believed that a painting of model drawn by the artist creates another one. However, the model made by arbitrariness of the artist requires to draw new piece of work to the artist. Such requirement happens in terms of the art work's physical and psychological time.' - Joon Sung Bae

The artist's desire for the essentials, which cannot be expressed by recreation of the object and copy of its appearance, is ironically showed by Simulation of various layers the object has. This is a keyword of his work to become 'moving still-life'.
