Keumsan Gallery will open Sang-Gon Chung's 24th exhibition 'Skin Deep: Re-reading Landscape' from 5 to 23 September. Chung has well-known in Germany rather than Korea for his print works, since he received many prominent prizes in Talinn Print Triennial in 1998, Ljubljana Print Biennale in 1999 and Oldenburg Print Triennial in 2007. However, since 2008, he started working painting to express delicate landscape and emotion and his experience from them, which can't be expressed by print. As the title shows, his landscape painting don't recreate, but express landscape itself. He paints by analogue methods, canvas, oil and brush, and implements pure pictorialization.
