As the first exhibition this year, Gallery em is pleased to introduce Jeanie Lee's 'Journey of Understanding'. This is her third solo exhibition at Gallery em, and 50 drawings and 10 paintings will be exhibited. 

Characteristics of her work are simple line with outline effect in black, vivid and sophisticated colour, and friendly characters and texts. Artworks in this exhibition also have her basic features and more various stories. Her continuous drawing series 'Message Drawing' has been showed since 2006, at the beginning, it consisted of simple doodles and texts. It has been started from her intention that delivering emotion or story with the minimum message and drawing. But as it becomes more abundant in terms of colour and story, has been developed with simple but intense message and content. In 'message drawing' series, mostly acceptable messages are included. As seen in the title of exhibition, the story is about understanding the others through the experiences from relationship or situation a person facing with during the entire life. In various messages, there is lyrics or quotation which people can feel pathetic. 

Painting work 'Blow Up Series' is the extended work of message drawing. Unlike message drawing series is monologue or a simple conversation, Blow Up Series is stronger shout. 

Her artworks make us more imagine and think about the feelings we forget easily as depicting them in detail. That may be a reason why the public understands her artworks well.
