Arario Gallery SamCheong is pleased to announce Cheng Ran Solo Exhibition in which the artist shows his new movies and six photographs. 

Now, the art world in China focuses on the media art, which can show the reality in terms of rapidly changing society. In this circumstance, his media artworks are attractive to public, since his works present a daily life in China and beautiful pictures which combine with other movies. Cheng Ran has held the exhibitions at Arario gallery Cheonan and Arario gallery Beijing, and this exhibition is the first time to introduce his newest artworks in Korea. 

Mostly, he uses video and film but also utilizes photographs or installation. His pictures show the movies connected to the contemporary culture, and covers people's identities, and young people in China, having agony from the globalized culture. 

Cheng Ran uses classic movies which he inspired, or recreates them with new perspectives and using symbols in other contemporary films. In some work, he has combined rock n roll music and electronic music and Chinese ink-and-wash paintings together to express his own cinematic language.
