From end of November, five compelling painters will be introduced at Hakgojae gallery. The title 'The Art of Painting' is derived from Johannes Vermeer's artwork. His painting 'The Art of Painting' embraces 17th century, the glorious era of painting. After 20th century, the end of painting has been declared many times, but it was never disappeared. And now, the arts have been evolved with high technology. However, why painting is continuing? 
Five artists will ask and answer about 'artist' and 'painting'. They will discuss about a possibility of existing Homo Pictor, mankind who is painting,  in 21st century. This exhibition is to listen their voice. There is no story fitting in trendy discourse. Except Sangik Seo, all painters are the artists of medium standing. This exhibition shows their works are deepening. Especially Dongi Lee shows new abstract painting, Suejin Chung exhibits artworks for theory of Vision she has advocated, and Kyoungtack shows various representational paintings.
