HAN Keryoon was born in Seoul, in 1969. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University (SNU), majoring in painting. He also majored in printmaking at the graduate school of SNU. He then completed a doctoral course at the graduate school for Art and Technology of Chung-Ang University. In his recent video works, Han unveiled “A Study on the Embarrassment of Nudity” series and “About the Moon” series under the theme of “Declaration of Painting.” Han says that “Declaration of Painting” is about seeking ways to visualize aesthetic contemplation. Indeed, his recent video works are about surreal fantasy images with no time restraints. Since his first solo exhibition, “Watching with TV receiver” in 1997, the artist has presented a lot of video works in 5 solo exhibitions and some 100 group exhibitions at home and abroad. Currently he is teaching at the Department of Fine Arts, Seoul National University of Technology.
