Arario Gallery Cheonan is pleased to announce the opening of a new large-scale sculpture 'Manifold' by Kohei Nawa on 14 June at the Arario sculpture square. This is the unprecedented public art project.
Manifold is a structure with tied circular bumps surrounding lots of pipes. With a subject, a group of information, material and energy, it looks like dilatate and accreted original forms at the brink of explosion, which is embodied appearance of civilization and information society. Kohei Nawa explained it that "I expressed linked volume of information and energy increasing disorderedly and such various displays created a spectacle sculture and space."
Through 'Manifold', the biggest project in his life, Kohei Nawa warns a gravity of environmental pollution ironically and makes the audience face with the reality and concern how to fix the problem.
Prior to the opening, the gallery will be exhibiting 'Manifold Document Exhibition'. With the documentary video to show a process of work, the lates sculpture series 'TRANS' will be showed together.
