Gallery LVS is pleased to announce the duo exhibition by Su Jin Oh and Da Bin Ahn. Su Jin Oh studied painting at Hong Ik University and Da Bin Ahn majored Western painting at Pratt in New York.
The common part of two persons is that both emphasize own characters based on 'hyper-realism'. As the theme 'Silence, I discover, is something you can hear.' said, two artists basically express portrait in silence or still-life realistically, and Su Jin Oh covers a dynamic part while Da Bin Ahn shows a static one. The title is derived from a novel 'Kafka on the Shore' by Murakami Haruki, and objects in painting do not stop but point out infinite possibilities like the rainbow.
Expression of person by Su Jin Oh is delicately described like a photo. The reality of color, line and light Da Bin Ahn creates make the audience feel stillness. Realistic expression but understatement by shade effect from the light gives an ambient feeling. With 'a painting like a photo', a point of realism, two artists show how they develop the realistic expression in own way.
