Won Kun Jun, a paintor developing monochrome painting in contemporary way, will have the second exhibition at Gallery LVS.
He finished studying in Korea and Germany, and now lives and works in Düsseldorf. His works started from monochrome colour-space painting and extremely personal 'stroke' is his characteristic. After layering acrylic ink thick, he blots edges and creates traces. This is to extend a flow of colours and make his own space of it.
For this exhibition, he has started work in 'Venetian Blind' style as adding a new type of technique for composition and form. Regardless of the colour palette in painting, emitting thinly spread colours inside makes audience appreciate complexity of his work. Thus, each line adds to the depth and transparency of artwork.
For 10 years, the artist has never denied existing painting technique, but suggested new stimulate. Through the new exhibition, he will show his unique feast of colours though a mix of form, side, and line.
