Meeting Zombie on Tehran Boulevard

On Tehran Boulevard, the center of business district in Seoul, people in suit turn to somewhere for work. A scenery of morning in Tehran looks like the world of Zombie. Originally, Zombie is one of characters from online game, but recently, office workers living a repetitive daily routine and suffering from fatigue are called as zombie. Such people lose own identity and focus on success in the era of limitless competition. In this exhibition, the art works expressing fragments of our life, and contemporary people enslaved by money and status, will be on view.

Yoon Hee Byun points out a problem of social relations and disjunction according to the four proprieties, coming-of-age, wedding, funeral, and memorial ceremonies. Yoon Chung Choi expresses an appearance of modern people influenced by visual scheme and mass media. Hyoung Gil Choi makes us look back our life through people heading to success and materialism in his works. 'Coin Man' in Il Dong Kim's work symbolizes a hope. With this, he installed taping installation on the floor and wall which attracts voluntary participation from the audience. A pig in luxurious bag and clothes in Sang Yoon Han's work satirizes modern people following wealth.
