Generally, photograph recalls people's memories and  restores the past. However, photograph in the digital era transcends the space time in a different way, and visualizes unrisen incident in reality based on imagination. Among them, the way to recreate the reality using the technique for a composite picture has existed in 19th centuries, but the one by digital technology is more elaborate now. As crossing the past and future, and reality and imagine, it turns itself into the medium to connect imagination to dream.
Everyone who was a child in 1970 to 1980's, might have been confused the reality and movie since watching animations or SF movies, such as Batman, Spider man or Star Wars. Boys in that moment imitated heroes and dreamed being one of them. The artist JS talks about their dreams and imaginations. To keep justice against New York and Seoul, the artist reenacted a cartoon which shows alien attacking the earth and fighting with hero. His works look like a movie poster. It is visualized outcome of symbolical codes from a movie for children.
The artist created a story to commune with people's thoughts which missing the childhood in the series 'A Boy's Dream'. This doesn't only excite nostalgia, but also tells about contemporary culture with restraint. Especially, a scene that heroes in Western animation make happenings agains Seoul transcending space is on us with another meaning of surrealism. Again, he created new narrative and space combining real and surreal.
This series was stared from memories of his children and himself. And to visualize specifically, he used cutting-edge technology. This process itself shows understanding of contemporary art. The artist reminds people about a flow of cultural changes in Korea. Also, he provides a frame to view the same period.
