Location: KunstDoc Gallery Seoul
Artist(s): Christian PSYK
Date: 22 Jul - 11 Aug 2011

the name PUTTEN for the lost boxonauts has is origin in italy.
the putto (pl. putti) is a figure of a human baby or toddler,
almost always male, often naked and having wings, found especially in italian

renaissance and baroque art.

they are non-literal figures, and later in christian art  came to represent the omnipresence of god.

in this exhibition the figures are a symbol for the total absence of any godlike creature.

they are “kawaii”, but helpless, unable to touch anything,  isolated and lonesome,

not able to help, to fix...

they are “kawaii”, but helpless, unable to touch anything,  isolated and lonesome,

not able to help, to fix...

of cause this idea was caused and inspired by the horrible events in Japan this year…
