Gallery Dam will feature sculptures by MiWha Park.
The artist, who inspired by carved calendar on the wall in the old prison, which could be an icon of hope to the living, expresses a feeling of that moment in sculpture. In 'Calendar,' Numbers engraved by a pen on a plate arouses a feeling of wistfulness for time.
'Pieta' statue is about an appearance of the Virgin Mary whelmed in sorrow which shows mother in pain. The artist tries to show this sculpture as an existence having sympathy for humankind and nature rather than simply representing religion.
MiWha Park studied sculpture at Seoul National University and Temple University in US. This is her twelfth solo exhibition.
