Portrait of Illusion
by Gallery Dam
Location: Gallery Dam
Artist(s): Keunmin LEE
Date: 2 Aug - 8 Aug 2013

Keunmin Lee, studying Western painting, shows his pictures drawn with oil and pen at the exhibition. Curious creatures are main roles of illusion he goes through. Their existences are not defined in the reality so that they want to have a meaning of themselves. The reason why he draws their portraits is to give the meaning of existence to images of illusion, which reflects on the artist. This is like 'a will of heal' to be born as complete existence which enters from unusual unreality of pain and suppression to the real world.

Artist Statement
An image of portrait includes a relationship between myself in the reality and restructuring creature from the unreal to real. Portraits in these conflicting interactions are the reality I think and a pictorial story.
