Gallery Dam is delighted to announce Toshimatsu Kuremoto solo exhibition. He has worked plain artworks for a long time, but recently been interested in solid art. As he showed at gallery Dam in 2011, Kuremoto has showed a strong will to overcome loneliness and suffering thorough his work. It can be found in sculpture made of zinc on wood and carving from human figure to show pains of salaryman. As drawing different shape of eye on small face of sculpture, he makes it fun with different looking of each side. This is his 19th exhibition, and he will show the newest artworks including 'it's not me', 'waiting for signal', 'A man never gives up' , 'barely showing'.
Artist's statement
A salesman in my sculpture is actually not gentle and free-hearted.
Missing the days never coming back, he is playing by himself.
And I, watching that scene.
As bring loneliness and dream closer, I lead the story.
