This series of paintings entitled :human body/landscape takes its inspiration from traditional Chinese acupuncture illustrations. In these medicinal illustrations one can see lines and dots which give some indications on how the human body functions. We see organs. veins, linked together according to the imagination of those ancient acupuncters. They were able to achieve, with very limited and primitive means, medicinal illustrations which are more like a mental journey through the human body rather than a rigorous observation or experimentation Their approach recalls those of the first explorers describing in their "journal of voyage" a strange amalgam of real and imaginary experiments. Like Christopher Columbus or Marco Pollo, when discovering new territories would have found new creatures recalling monsters or strange fairylike plants. these authors also found, in exploring the human body, organs of strange shapes recalling mountains, clouds. valleys or rivers. Whether it be a "journal of voyage" or medicinal illustrations, it is always been the same irrepressive need to express the inner life inside each of us and share it with other human beings. It is human and we call it "communication."
