The engraving works by Augusta Cyrillo Gomes, who represents the identity of Italy in 21st Century, will be exhibited in Gallery MOA. Biostructure series is about the value of original forms and hidden structure in leaves distributed in Italy and Brazil, and the artist restructured diversity on a board. This exhibition will be a moment of understanding and enjoying a piece of nature which is selected by a view of architecture and restorer in one.
"Comparing art with nature can be existed when art exists.
This has been the challenge for artists, and given agony to art critics and historians. Biostructure by Augusta Cyrillo Gomes has a contemporary concept. The series includes 20 sculptures which describe different leaves from 20 trees. Since in childhood, we have been attracted by a beauty and freshness, colour, structure of a leaf, and collected beautiful leaves at a garden or a park.
And then made collection of dried leaves as attaching them on an album, it was pure attempt to preserve delicacy and moment, and be aware of nature. The artist shows the leaves demagnified as the two-dimensional graphic structure and a beauty of life structure."
