David Gerstein has drawn public attention with familiar and simple but dynamic works. After moving his drawing on paper to the computer, he uses laser cutting on steel. After then, his art work is created as coloring on it.
Gerstein mostly deals with various scenes in the contemporary society, such as different conditions in a life or positive belief for the future inherent in the daily life. Still life image, cityscape, and images of people's activities remind of rhythmical pop art. Constantly moving people by pressure in the city have individual characteristic as well as dynamic flexibility. As adding linear brush stroke in vivid colors, new form of painting is created.
David Gerstein was born in Israel. He has had 20 solo exhibition and his works are installed many public spaces in Singapore (Momentum, Central Business District), France (Noel des Alps, Annecy), London (Roman, Rumford), etc.
