UNC Gallery and Seongnam Arts Center will present 'hola! Spain', Spanish modern and contemporary art exhibition curated by UNC Gallery director. Not only well known artists, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Salvador Dalí, artists who lead Space Informel in the mid-twentieth century and contemporary artists will be showed.
Informel means 'atypical' in French and this is one of tendencies in the abstract painting. The exhibition will introduce Antoni Tapies (1923-2012), the leader of Informel and one of important Spanish artists in the late 20th century, Antoni Clavé (1913-2005), establishing unique Spanish art beyond the age of turmoil, and Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002).
In addition, there are Spanish contemporary artists, who never been covered in Korea. Including Jaume Plensa, conceptual artist and representative artist of public art, through contemporary artists, the exhibition will explore how Spanish art could be inherited for a long history.
Over 100 art works, such as painting, photo, video, sculpture and installation, will be on display.
