Currently, contemporary German art is very successful internationally since 1990s. A well-know word 'Young German Artist' shows the development of German art. Represent German artists are Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Jorg Immendorf, Amselm Kiefer, and Neo Rauch, and price of these artists' artworks is increasing 20-25% annually. Also, Germany holds 25% of international art events, and 1/3 of 50 major galleries which are participated in international art fairs are headquartered in Germany. It tells that Germany leads great cultural exchange and many artists gather in here. The main character of contemporary German art is that based on traditional techniques, and after the unification, veiled East German art became known and Leipzig School from Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig has led German art. In this exhibition 'German Now', 21th contemporary German art will be introduced, focusing on Leipzig School artists.
