PYO Gallery has selected 3 new young artists to celebrate 31st anniversary. 2nd selected artist is Min Young Park who analyzes her paintings based on reality. Component and dissolution in her painting are dissection of landscape and existence relating to awareness. Her painting always starts from collage. The artist starts sketching in small size of montage. 'Metropolis' is one of collage series, this reminds of a movie 'Metropolis' by Fritz Lang. The artist reconstitutes such handwritten elements, like building debris and fragments of landscape and objects, and connects them to landscape of a strange city. Chaos, marvelous ratio and perspective describe a residential space in a broad sense. Line, form, space and colour are important elements composing a work. Layered colours make a hazed space like the deep air. That space means structure consisted of lines or steeliness of buildings, but on one hand, it can be attacked by pictorial intervention. Landscape is made from painting. Agian, a process of painting itself makes a painting, not motif.
