Beginning with ‘Greed' done in 2008, Ryu completed seven works of painting, which are ‘Greed', ‘Envy', ‘Lust', ‘Wrath', ‘Addiction', ‘Pride', and ‘Self-portrait' in chronological order. The scenes of insanity and savageness depicted in Ryu's works construct the artists' timeless dystopia within his head, and represent the reminiscences of inner fears he learned through life. Yet, the world Ryu, who actualized the ‘images of chaos' with his own hands, sincerely pursues would not be about us humans floundering in our own desires but be placed on the natural instinct of art seeking for the fine truth.
