Hyun Ik Cho dramatizes an image of chic woman on metal. The artist focuses on authenticity of painting and explores a possibility of extending realm of it in depth. His theme is a woman. It is like an effort to recover a sacred meaning of a woman. He expresses erotic face on cold metal plate, which contrasts with felinity. However, unlike passion for a life connecting to eros in a composition, a work shows an ominous atmosphere. In his work, contrasting attributes, such as beauty and ugliness or life and death, pull and push each other, which generates a highly charged atmosphere. Coldness of metal and warmness in a woman look different but complete dialectic duet of death and eros.
