project N. 55 Emi Otaguro
by Tokyo Opera City Gallery
Location: Tokyo Opera City Gallery
Artist(s): Emi OTAGURO
Date: 18 Jan - 30 Mar 2014

Emi Otaguro's painting uses familiar daily products, such as a quail egg, chewing gum, plaster, vinyl sheet and table cloth. Different material and technique in her work seem to have no connection between them but they are linked though the artist. Bringing characteristics and diversity from objects, she transforms them into artwork with a story touching people's mind. Spontaneous, light and simple but symbolic image is deeply connected to self of man. The reason why her work remains in memories is that images in artworks cause resonance in contemporary people's hearts.
