Exhibiting art work is a two channel video installation work exhibited at LA Biennale 'Made in L.A' (2012) at Hammer Museum, and consists of 3 drawings, 10 round mirrors and 20 chairs.
L.A based artist, Koki Tanaka has been opening many exhibitions internationally since 2000 and he is currently the representative artist of Japan Pavilion at 55th International Art Exhibition - la Biennale di Venezia.
The installation work 'Beholding Performer, Performing Beholder'(2012) was created for L.A Biennale. During preparation, Tanaka requested a cooperation to the students from the department of Music in UCLA, the parent organization of Hammer Museum, and two marimba performers, Ariel Campos and Matt Sumid, joined the project.
During the exhibition at Hammer Museum, one performer improvised playing and there is one another person watching the performance as the audience on the screen. Thus, the audience who showing the video installation can experience the mixed images of themselves and other people reflecting on the mirrors.
