Mitsuo Kano was born in 1933 in Tokyo. After self-studying copperplate, Kano has announced the art works in the mid of 1950s and got a great attention from many international art events, such as Ljubljana international prints biennale and Tokyo international prints biennale.
Since 1980s, he started announcing oil painting at many museums, and in 2000, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art held the large scale solo exhibition of him. Recently, he still announces the new works every two years.
Also, from 14th September, he has been opening the exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura & Hayama, the public museum in 13 years. This is a chance to see overall works, from copperplate in 1950s to monochrome, oil painting, and objet.
This is the solo exhibition in Galerie Tokyo Humanite after two years. 10 works including unpublished one in 2001 and new pieces will be on display.
