“The size of the canvas does not accord to the size of the work.”

It may sound strange but you will understand it once you see Koji Noyori’s paintings’ mysterious expanse. This comes from his intention of the execution; he tries to exceed the limitation that a painting needs the support such as a canvas.

In other words, his theme of “the interlacing space” makes it possible. He implies something invisible by painting a shadow and its reflection effectively. Thus, his paintings on a canvas go over the frame and enlarge in our mind unlimitedly.

We can know that the world on his canvas is a fiction by its texture composed of sands and his impressive pale color. The viewers get lost in his world like drifting in the mist or searching one’s memory.
 
The exhibition will be constructed of his new 15-20 paintings. They are smaller than ones of his ex-exhibition which showed the unity by relevant works. You will feel the independence and the will from each work.

You must find out his tricky ideas and fantastic “story” as much as the number of the works.
