Isso has taken a long time for working while lives together with his models in few months or few years. As often as he felt alteration of a model’s mentality, for example gladness, sadness and etc, then he popped a shutter. He gathered up the distance between models through a process like a documentary, and he printed out them relation to a photograph.  So we can feel model’s private and a mysterious atmosphere from his photographs.

“My photos are probably mirror of myself or the other self of me.  Understanding my models is equal to understand myself, moreover saves myself.  This shooting was the necessities for me.”

His point of view that to penetrate his model’s mind deeply is a same as bending his own ear to the voice of a model’s heart.  We can hear its voice from his photographs which were shown model’s own naked mind and pregnant their expression.  Isso said, “I found a model who looks closing her heart” and obviously we can feel model’s delicate feeling it likes a fragile glass.  Model’s tender minds are not possible to be violated from anyone however they are not only fragile.  Isso has not missed their strong hearts that have difficult to catch, therefore his photographs are having a tough impression as well as a tender image.

Isso has been in activity as a commercial photographer on fashion and beauty area.  Those commercial photos were  drawn a model’s outside of the beauty and it is doubtless beautiful, but photographs will show on this exhibition are bringing out a model’s interior side.  Please come to see his early great works.
