Aya Ito have stayed and worked at The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park from July to December in 2013, and tried experimental work process, such as using anamaga, very old type of kiln. In this exhibition, various size of ceramic sculptures created here, 5 paintings on panel consists of plural 'photo drawing', and 5 oil paintings will be on display.
Normally, anamaga is hard to control natural glaze and temperature so that produces unexpected color and texture. It is not allowed to express realistically on a process of 'photo drawing' he has worked but Ito is interested in such unexpected result.
