Galerie Sho Contemporary Art is pleased to announce a group exhibition, Time Machine, by various artists selected by the gallery director Shoichiro Satake (often known as Sho). Sho is actively engaged with the representation and installation of this exhibition, in which Jeppe Hein's 'Rotating Mirror Object III' plays a vital role, namely as a time machine by itself by having other exhibiting works reflected upon and mingled them with, allowing the viewers to travel to and fro chronologically throughout the show by watching it. Hein's conceptual art piece is to be enriched with diverse themes and backgrounds, which are embodied in other individual works.

The exhibition features established and emerging artists whose work have been seldom shown in Japan; Zhang Dali juxtaposes collected photographs and texts documenting Mao Tse-tung and his activities. Tseng Kwong Chi photographs Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, two eminent figures in New York art scenes in the 1980s. Romania-origin Oana Farcas and Poland-based Piotr Lakomy are new talents from Central Europe to be introduced to Japan for their first time. Whilst a young American artist, Jamian Juliano-Villani exemplifies her heritage of living in the digitised-era by employing iPhone's apps in order to create her paintings. Bill Massey's hybrid painting also shows a perfect fusion of old and new, taking the viewers into a new dimension of times.

Amongst these works, Fred Tomaselli's psychedelically-composed painting stands out for its substantial role that opens up another door for the viewers to wander through the state of creative hallucination.
