It is said that people would be terrified of losing the five senses such as feel of colors, materials and scents on which we are counting in everyday life.
Through elaborate paintings in a completely simple and silent representation method, Maeda has devoted himself to perceiving a faint invisible thing in that darkness.
In his newest works for "The Other Side: Soul dust," the artist chose flames and candles as motif, he tries to capture time blazing away. His Floating (on Block) series, an attempt to fix images and fragments of time picked from video image, will be showcased.
