After the war, the eradication of Japanese painting leads to the reform of Japanese painting .
But 60 years after the war, has this reform worked on the future of Japanese painting ?
Has this problem been solved thoroughly?
Art borned in Japan and can just be understood by Japanese do exist in the world.
If Japanese painting really has the future, isn’t it the time for us to consider about its existance and future?
The development of Japanese painting has several key words.
One is internationalization.
Nowadays, the Japanese culture, pop and music, art, Ukiyo-e, animation, architecture, design… have been internationalized.
And the Creators innovatively developed them.
If Japanese painting could do the same thing, I believe it can answer to the eradication of Japanese painting.
Thus, how to the internationalize Japanese painting ?
There are a lot of opinions. Maybe there is no single solution.
Foreigners really enjoy the decorative beauty of Japanese painting.
However, do they know the concept of the artist? Listen.
The answer is nothing more than sentimental feelings.
so ,for the future of Japanese painting, we would like to contrastively display two kinds of works created by young Japanese artists: works follow the traditional rules of Japanese painting (A) ;works don’t follow the traditional rules of Japanese painting (B).
We would be honored if this exhibition could contribute something to the future of Japanese painting.
