Tanaka has drawn an ever-changing scene of dream and utopia. An intermediate world between reality and fantasy was described in surrealism technique with a pencil or pastel. Tanaka, who was influenced by surrealism, found a hint for new creation from a brilliant park near Paris. There are the park forest as 'realization of dream,' and 'a place with a mix of fantasy and reality,' and she developed an image from photos and description of them. The park got a big attention because spiritual background of modernism can be found.
Studying in France, Tanaka researched this park and forest in depth so that describes a change of landscape, plants or appearance of visitors. Through this, she tries to figure out a motivation of production, 'a mix of utopia and reality' hidden under consciousness.
In new work, she expresses objects before eyes in more human perspective, and pursues the painting world existing strength and weakness blurredly with basic technique.
