YUKA TSURUNO GALLERY is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Yu Yasuda.
Yu Yasuda was born in 1982, received MA in oil painting from Musashino Art University in 2007. His talent has been drawing attention while in college was selected for noteworthy exhibitions such as ART AWARD TOKYO (Gyoko Chika Callery, Tokyo) and TWS EMERGING 2008 (Solo, Tokyo Wonder Site, Tokyo) upon graduation, and VOCA 2008 (The Ueno Royal Museum, Tokyo) next year. Recent exhibition include Art in an Office (Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, Aichi) and The Exhibition of the Collection (Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohama). He also has been expanding his activities working on commission works for public buildings and hotels.
Yu Yasuda has been creating unique paintings while adhering strictly to the traditional artistic tools of canvas and oil pigment with his contemporary sensibility. With an inimitable touch and shimmering layers of bold color where time and space seem to mingle and collide, Yu Yasuda depicts dream-like landscapes and a fluid, painterly world liberated from existing notions of space and time. These landscapes seem to be premonitions that offer us a glimpse at a future to come, materializing at the other end of the horizon.
The title of the exhibition "Between" means the middle landscape, as he states that "I wish my pairing to be the link to something to the audience". This exhibition will be the first exhibition in 3 years and more than 10 paintings will be displayed in various sizes.
