Gallery Trinity will have the solo exhibition of Kayoko Watanabe from May 10 to May 21. Her first exhibition at Gallery Trinity was in 2009 and it will be her third exhibition with the gallery. Watanabe has been working with the theme "distance to others." Her painting looks rather mysterious because the border between the subject(model) and its background is not clear. The motif is painted obscure and it looks as if it emerges from the background. The artist had been searching the distance between herself and others when she was caught up in an odd feeling that she and the subject were melted and became into one. She eventually established her "obscure" style and the technique from her experience. In this up-coming "GIRL FRIEND" exhibition, she prepared 14 oil paintings that show one day of her and her girlfriend that looks as if it is a scene from a film. She has been attended in several art shows abroad and received very good reviews and accepted favourably by the art lovers. She definitely is one of the most promising young artists in Japan and we believe we will see more of her works in future.
