Artist(s): Tomoko SENGOKU
Date: 16 Feb - 3 Apr 2011
Tomoko Sengoku earned a master degree in sculpture from Tokyo University of the Arts, and studied photography at the University of Paris 8. At this exhibition, she makes an attempt to create a space with new medium, drawing. We are surrounded with unseen matter, such as smell and damp in the air. Although it is mostly impossible to recognize the existence of it, she sees the beauty in it because of the ephemeralness. She aims to capture and delineate temperature, humidity, and smell on the paper. Feel the moisture. Sniff the scent. Her works must evoke your senses.
