Keiko Sasaoka is a hotographer, born in 1978 in Hiroshima and graduated from Tokyo Zogei University.
Keiko Sasaoka is one of the founding members of photographer’s gallery, which was established in 2001 by photographer Keizo Kitajima along with other members and is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In addition to managing the gallery, Sasaoka has experience across a wide range of activities related to photography, such as organizing exhibitions and lectures and publishing photo books and journals. Solo exhibitions include “SASAOKA Keiko 2001-2007” (Tamada Project, Tokyo, 2008) and “PARK CITY” (Ginza Nikon Salon, Tokyo, 2008). In 2008, she received the Vision of Contemporary Art (VOCA) 2008 Award for Encouragement and in 2010, she was a recipient of the Photographic Society of Japan’s Newcomers Award for her book PARK CITY (published by Inscript, 2009). Her latest book EQUIVALENT (published by Rat hole gallery, 2010) has been selected one of the Best Books 2010 of photo-eye magazine.
