From April 2011, Keiko SaSaoka has taken many towns in Abukuma and Sanriku where have been damaged by the earthquake and tsunami. These works have been exhibited at Nikon Salon in March this year. As a part of this exhibition 'Remembrance 3.11', a photo collection is published. Two separated sections, Sanriku with traces left after tsunami and Abukuma harmed by Nuclear plants, are showed as discontinuous time passes.
The title 'Remembrance' represent the artist's attitude against forgetting and public indifference about Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami. In this exhibition, the new works taken after April this year as a sequel. The artist took photos in Fukushima and Southern Soumashi, the previous exclusion areas in terms of Nuclear damages, and it shows that disaster still continues. Also, Nikon Salon supported Sasaoka's purpose of the exhibition, 'Thinking makes the present', and helped publishing the photo collection 'Remembrance' (published by KULA). This mini photo book includes many regions in Japan as well as disaster areas.
