Kota Kishi has taken photos in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka since 2005. In 2011, he announced photos printed on a newspaper in 'The books with smells,' and through 'Barracks' series in 2012, showed photo printed on flyer, paperback and lined paper mounted on junk, tin plate, plastic container or flooring. Newspaper, junk, or flyer is carefully selected by the artist in which his attitude for the streets can be felt.
For this exhibition, the artist will announce different artworks in two spaces. At Kula Photo gallery, 'Barracks' series including new works will be on view, while he will create live printing of 'Rubbish and photography' series at Phtographers' Gallery.
Images printed on a coarse paper is blurred but looks rhythmical so that monochrome images of boots, blanket, or even banana peel emits light.
