Tokyo-based artist, Shinya Totsuka was born in 1983, and studied at Musashino Art University. Totsuka's work shows various mix of person, object and a desultory remark in terms of cartoon-style drawing line. The viewer cannot find any existing semantic relations or rule. In his cartoon, Totsuka also creates an unpredictable story.
Born in 1986, Yuta Ozaki graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design, and has worked with family computer and animation. Transforming label on family computer into various objets, he combines them as big shape of family computer, or creates drawing without subject as using photo sticker. Such works inspired by culture in which he has faced since childhood have a bit of resignation, resistance to the reality and nostalgia.
Both artists are from the same generation, growing up with development of animation and game, so that their works have common sensitivity.
