Harmas Gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition of Mikiko Azuma. In this exhibition, more elaborated collage will be showed. Since studying print at Tama Art University, she has worked drawing and painting as well as printing. However, as finding a symbol of a paper itself, she kept a distance with some materials, paints and canvas, and has created lithography using printing technique on paper. Approaching to a paper through sewing and stippling the front and back of paper, or mosaic using a paper product, is an important theme to Azuma.
The collage using mosaic in 1mm size in this exhibition improves refinement and a degree of laminating. Boldly abstracted personal motif is described as recollecting originality of delicate shadow or printed matter with texture.
