Hiromart Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Kakureba (Hideway), and exhibition of paintings by moki, a Berlin-based German artist. This is her debut solo-show in Japan after taking part ina well-received group show "Tokyo Here We Come!" held in June 2010 with Hiromart Gallery. 

The show features the great selection of paintings from her latest project Shelter, which began in 2010. In this project, moki paints on a wooden panel to give the image of marquetry, inlaid work of the different cut pieces of wood. She imitates wood grain and knothole with acrylic color. She says "I collect pictures from various sources that inspire me. They all show different methods to seek shelter."
