Akibatamabi21・The 8th exhibition/「MUSEUM of LIFE」
by 3331 Arts Chiyoda
Location: 201/202
Date: 16 Apr - 15 May 2011

This exhibition, curated by 2007 graduate of Tama Art University's sculpture course, Kagubu Shiho, presents a select range of artists who point towards the "Museum of Life".

Museum of Life
The great length of time it took for the formation of the universe.
Millions, trillions of stars gathered, the sun and the galaxy of the milky way were formed and life began.
Through the energy of the sun life was born, and its change to that of human life has been a relatively short one.
Let us take the human as a form of history.
One's single life is long it seems but in comparison with the formation of the universe it is but a single moment.
Let us look at the world from both near and far.
Look in from without.
The works (or view points) of 10 artists presented here each have a different perspective and approach, but simultaneously share something between them in a particular tension.
No matter what era, no matter what condition we live in there is something which is shared between us all.
And at the same time as keeping our distance, and binding nothing upon this earth, we simultaneously feel enwrapped by the strength of an acceptance. And it is this which strongly, silently follows.

Artists: Shiho Kagabu , Hayato Wakabayashi , Toru Arakawa , Yuji Yokokura , Michiko Nakatani , Takashi Kawanishi , Omuro Yusuke , Hiiro Takauchi , Kenji Ide , Yutaka Nozawa
