g3/ gallery is delighted to announce the solo exhibition of Takaaki Akaishi for our fifth and last exhibition in 2010. Akaishi is currently studying at Graduate School of Tokyo Zokei University. He has presented his photography installation in many group shows such as THE EXPOSED #4 PROJECTion (at CASO, Osaka), a.a.t.m awarding exhibition in 2009 (Gyoko-dori Underground gallery, Tokyo), and his solo exhibitions. Originally trained and studied painting, Akaishi composes his installations as if they overturn the way we perceive the photographs and time/person they belong. By thoughtfully composing his photographs and the various everyday (not-art) pictures, as well as taking in other artists' artworks into his photographs, Akaishi challenges the way we have understood the photography.
