by 3331 Arts Chiyoda Location: 206 Zerodate Art Center Tokyo
Artist(s): Yuki TAGUCHI
Date: 26 Jun - 18 Jul 2010
Yuki Taguchi is an artist born and still residing in Akita prefecture. From her teenage years to the present day she has been creating brilliantly coloured pictures which overspill with a living power. This exhibition will be her first solo exhibition in Tokyo and will present her early paintings as well as some of her most recent works.
Her works contain a sexual, strange, grotesque form of expression yet at the same time have a childlike appearance about them. This sense of fine balance is captured in delicate lines, striking colours and composition, which shake one's essence of being.
In March 2010 "ZERODATE Art Center Tokyo" was opened at 3331 Arts Chiyoda. In tandem with 3331's grand open on 26th June, ZERODATE Art Centre Tokyo will also be launching its grand open. With presentations not only linked to arts and culture but also local businesses, ZERODATE will facilitate a wide range of events which encompasses the wide range of community practices taking place in Tokyo, going beyond the current frame of art to form a new art network.
